Android 12 was made official last Monday (04) boasting new features in its design and features. With the release, several manufacturers began to update their user interfaces based on the operating system signed by Google, including OPPO with ColorOS, OnePlus with OxygenOS, and Samsung with One UI 4.0.
Today, the South Korean giant is releasing the One UI 4.0 Beta 2 for the top-of-the-line phones in its portfolio — including the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. A detail that wasn’t present in the first version is the new UI design with Material You, the visual language that debuted in the Google ecosystem with Android 12.
Now, the One UI 4.0 beta allows the user to choose a theme based on the colors of the smartphone’s wallpaper, but since this is a test distribution, some issues can still be encountered.
The SamMobile observed when installing the build on a Galaxy S21, the custom theme is not applied immediately after being picked. “On more than one occasion, we had to restart the device for the changes to be completed”, discloses the portal.
The Ice Universe also showed their tests with the new One UI. The leaker displays the animations when opening apps, which are now more fluid. The background acquired blur and zoom effects by dispensing with an app with transitions reminiscent of Apple’s iOS. See below:
It’s natural that problems occur in unstable versions, so fixes should be made until a future beta version approaches the stable release of One UI 4.0. Other interface changes include virtual keyboard enhancements and new behavior for “Safe Folder”.
