Sharp is a Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics that also have smartphones in its portfolio. At today’s conference, the Japanese manufacturer presented Sharp AQUOS sense6 and zero6 with some highlights as the lightest phone 5G world and screen 120Hz.
Sharp AQUOS Sense6
The newly introduced smartphone from the Japanese manufacturer is equipped with a 6.1-inch screen. It is a 10-bit IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (Full HD +). Importantly, this screen is refreshed at 120 Hz and its peak brightness is 1300 nits. There is a fingerprint reader under the display layer. Everything indicates that the new device will not fail in this respect.
The list of elements responsible for the performance of the new model looks a bit worse. Sharp Aquos Sense6 is powered by SoC Snapdragon 690, which has been combined with 4 or 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 internal memory, which can be up to 128GB.
The photographic set consists of the main lens with a 48MP matrix, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a telephoto lens with an 8MP sensor, allowing for a double zoom. In turn, the camera for video calls gained a resolution of 8MP and was placed in a cutout on the screen.
And Aquos Sense6 supports 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and also has an NFC module. The battery with a capacity of 4570mAh can be charged via a USB type C port. The device works under the control of Android 11 and has received the IPX5 / 8 certificate.
The smartphone will be a representative of rather smaller devices. Its dimensions are 152 x 70 x 7.9 mm and the weight is 156 grams. We know that it will be available in at least four color options – copper, silver, blue, and black.
Sharp Aquos Zero6
The Sharp Aquos Zero6 is a slightly different model. It is still a relatively small device, but a bit better equipped. You can see that this equipment is aimed at more demanding users who value mobility and compact size at the same time.
Sharp Aquos Zero6 has a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+) with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The screen is protected by Corning gorilla glass Victus glass, which is characterized by increased resistance to mechanical damage. Under the screen – as in Aquos Sense6 – there is a fingerprint reader.
The heart of the device is the SoC Snapdragon 750G, which is supported by 8GB RAM. As in the model described above, we find here 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory. It is also similar in terms of connectivity – there is 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC on board. In addition, Aquos Zero6 has a microSD card slot with a maximum capacity of 1TB.
The photo set also looks familiar. The main lens works with a 48MP matrix and is supported by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto lens offering a 2x zoom. Additionally, a ToF sensor was on board.
For this model, customers will choose between three colors: black, white, and purple. The dimensions of the device are 158 x 73 x 7.9 mm, and the weight is only 146 grams – a result worth appreciating, especially since the power cell has a capacity of 4010mAh. The device has also received IP68 certification and works under the control of Android 11.
Pre-orders for the AQUOS zero6 model will begin in early October 2021 through SoftBank and au. The AQUOS sense6 will be available for pre-order in November 2021 with NTT DoCoMo as a distributor across Japan. I haven’t set a price yet.
