In the AS SSD test, the SN730 512GB SSD scored 5225, which is a score that the top PCIe 3.0 SSD can run. The sequential read and write speeds are 3016MB/s and 2443MB/s; 4K random read and write speeds are 53MB/s: s, 210MB/s.
Experience test
The experienced test mainly tests the following items:
- 1. The startup speed of opening a 97MB Word document
- 2. The startup speed of opening a 950MB PPT document
- 3. The time it takes to decompress a 6.5GB compressed package
- 4. Use Adobe Premiere to render the “BigMix” scene we have in 4K
- 5. Transcode and output the rendered 4K material
The test results are summarized as follows:
For ThinkPad X1 and Honor MagicBook V14, since the sequential read speeds of the SSDs on both of them exceed 3000MB/s, the bottleneck of the application startup speed is not the SSD but the processor. The actual measurement is whether it is opening a large-capacity Word document or PPT. MagicBook V14 with more robust CPU performance can be about 30% faster.
As for the use of Adobe Premiere for rendering and transcoding, MagicBook V14 has no problem by a large margin ahead of ThinkPad X1. In these studios, MagicBook V14 can save about 60% of the time.

As the current competitive game with the most significant number of players, the emergence of “League of Legends” has extensively promoted the development of global e-sports. Every year, a large number of events are held all over the world. We tested it at 1920*1080 with very high image quality.
The frame rate of Honor MagicBook V14 fluctuates between 130~200FPS during the entire game. Even in the final large-scale battle, the frame rate is still as high as 137FPS.
In the same scenario, the Think Pad X1 has a frame rate of only 71FPS.
Battery
To suppress the i5-11320H processor with a maximum power consumption of 45W, Honor designed a dual-fan + 2 8mm heat pipe cooling system for the MagicBook V14.
The heat dissipation strategy of Honor MagicBook V14 is to allow the processor to release higher power consumption as much as possible when the temperature allows (97 degrees). At the beginning of the i5-11320H running AIDA64 FPU, the processor power consumption is stable at 45W.
As the roasting machine progressed, by the 20th minute, the power consumption of the i5-11320 stabilized at 38W, and the whole core frequency of the roasting device was 3.4GHz.
The heat dissipation strategy of ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is to limit the processor temperature to less than 60 degrees. Therefore, the power consumption of the i5-1135G7 can only be stabilized at about 15W under high load. If the baking machine continues, the power consumption will continue to drop.
Endurance test
Honor MagicBook V14 has a built-in high-capacity lithium battery with a capacity of 60Wh. We use PCMark 10 to test the endurance of the notebook.
The scene selected for the test is a modern office in PCMark 10. The “balanced mode” is set during the trial, all other processes are closed, and the screen brightness is adjusted to 50%.
The endurance test score under the PCMark ten modern office scene is 9 hours and 10 minutes.
This result does not seem high, but considering that the Honor MagicBook V14 screen has a brightness of 152nit even at 50% brightness, most of the thin and light books have less than 100nit at 50% brightness. In addition, the performance score of the PCMark ten endurance test is 6,800 points, which means that even in the case of unplugged, MagicBook V 14 still has an excellent performance.
