According to product plans, Qualcomm will iterate on its flagship chip and launch android’s most powerful processor, Snapdragon 898, at the end of this year, in about two months.
The snapdragon 898 and its launch have been rumored for a while now, but nothing concrete has been revealed, but now it’s time for the veil to be lifted.
This morning, a popular blogger posted: “Blufactory’s new V2102A has been approved and its processor identifier is Cortex-X2 hypercore +Adreno 730 GPU, most likely snapdragon 898 flagship. Of course, I can’t rule out the new Snapdragon 7 series for toothpaste, but it’s definitely a new platform.”
The new phone is also the country’s first certified Snapdragon 898 model.
The Snapdragon 898 will be equipped with three core cpus of 3.09ghz, 2.4ghz and 1.8ghz, with a new generation cortex-X2 design that will bring new performance and power consumption.
According to the previously disclosed GeekBench 5 data, Snapdragon 898 has a single-core running time of around 1250 and multi-core running time of around 4000. Compared to Snapdragon 888, it is a big upgrade, and the running time of Antutu may exceed one million for the first time.
As usual, the Snapdragon 898 is likely to launch by xiaomi’s next-generation digital flagship mi 12, which will most likely launch in December as the company’s 12th anniversary flagship.
