Back in May, HMD announced that it would be one of the first nokia X20 devices to use Android 12, and now it has received its first Android 12 developer preview.
Nokia X20 users need to download the latest My Phone App, add the “Android Developer Preview” option at the bottom of the App, and “allow the App to check your IMEI”.
HMD will push the Android 12 Developer Preview via OTA updates within 12 hours of confirming that the device is eligible for the upgrade. Users can manually check for updates by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update on the phone.
We understand that HMD highlighted the following points:
Android 12 Developer Preview Program Version (ADP) is an early version of the Android operating system. It is intended for use only by application developers and is not recommended for general use.
Despite strenuous testing by our development team, in some cases builds can have performance and/or stability issues.
Some apps downloaded from the Google Play Store may not be supported (in whole or in part) and may show signs of instability.
Upgrading from Android 11 to Android 12 Developer Preview and rolling back from Android 12 Developer Preview to official Android 11 will result in loss of user data. Therefore, we recommend that you back up all user data to avoid loss.
