Earlier this year, Realme launched the GT series in the global market including handsets such as the GT 5G, GT Neo, GT Neo Flash Edition, and GT Master Edition. Several phones from this series will now go global on August 18 with launches in Europe and India. Realme plans to expand the GT series in several markets to replace the old Realme X Series smartphone.
Quoted from Gizmochina, Saturday (14/8/2021), the head of the Indian and European divisions of Realme, Madhav Sheth, in an interview with TechRadar, confirmed that the new Realme GT series will officially replace the older Realme X series. “The X series will be replaced by the GT series,” he said.
This means that the X Series line that offers high-end specifications at affordable prices will no longer be produced. However, the GT series which offers a similar flagship-like experience will replace it from now on.
Notably, other series of phones from Realme, such as the Realme C series and the Narzo series will remain in production. Meanwhile, the new Realmi GT is available in the Chinese market and will soon be launched in other major markets such as Europe and India.
