Realme recently jointly hosted the Global 5G Summit with Qualcomm, Counterpoint, and GSMA. In the keynote speech of the summit, Realme announced that it will offer more than 20 5G handsets by the end of 2022. The goal is to have 100 million active 5G phone users by 2024.
Madhav Sheth, Vice President and CEO of Realme India and Europe, said, “We believe that accelerating the adoption of 5G technology for all is an important mission of Realme in the 5G era. We are committed to popularizing 5G applications, listening more to consumer needs, advancing product innovation, and working with our industry partners to help build the broader 5G ecosystem.”
The Realme brand still focuses on low-cost 5G phones, and will add more in the coming years, including 5G models priced below 600 yuan. Realme also revealed plans for two new GT models in the near future, with a performance-focused flagship coming later this month and a camera-focused flagship coming in July.
