On November 30, Meizu has waited for one month to release its year-end flagship smartphone, Meizu Pro 6 Plus powered by Samsung Exynos 8890 processor, Flyme 6 OS and mid-range smartphone, Meizu X smartphone with Helio P20 processor globally first and Flyme 6 OS. As for Meizu Pro 6 Plus price, the RAM 4GB ROM 64GB version sells at 2,999 yuan, $499, and RAM 4GB ROM 128GB edition at 3,299 yuan, 549usd. However, Xiaomi fans don’t think Meizu Pro 6 Plus can win their flagship smartphone, Xiaomi MI Note 2, so does Huawei mate 9. So which one is the real flagship this year, Meizu Pro 6 Plus, Xiaomi MI Note 2 and Huawei Mate 9 ?
Design
Meizu Pro 6 Plus has 155.6*77.3*7.3mm dimension, 5.7 inches 2560 x 1440 pixels screen, compared with Oneplus 3T with 152.7*74.7*7.35mm, there is no difference. But in terms of single hand holding, the best screen size is 5.7 inch, as for weight, 158g weight is suitable for girls, but light for males. It has ultra narrow bezel and BM black frame to make the screen to body higher and more clear in visual effect. On the top is the de-noising MIC, at the bottom is speaker, Type C and 3.5mm earphone jack, in order to reduce the thickness, the screen of the phone and back cover use the screw to fix tightly. On the back adopts curved antenna line, non-outstanding camera placement. It uses Floating Design. It has nice holding feel, and more stereo visual effect.
Xiaomi MI Note 2 first used Dual curved 3D glass design with 5.7 inch OLED screen from LG, and 77.2% screen to body ratio, it has 3.5mm earphone jack, IR remote control and MIC on the top, The front panel keeps same as the back in color and craftsmanship. At the bottom is USB Type c port and the MIC and speaker port on the each side. The LED notification light and front camera is also designed in symmetry. Xiaomi MI Note 2 uses a pressed fingerprint scanner on the home button, and Xiaomi MI Note 2 doesn’t use dual rear camera, the main camera is located in the middle, a little outstanding. There is a metal circle around the camera.
Huawei Mate 9 has no big change compared with Huawei Mate 8, It uses 5.9inch FHD screen, which is smaller a little than iPhone 7 Plus. But the black bezel inside is obvious, it has 190g which holds heavier. This time it doesn’t use 2K screen which makes us a little disappointed.
Performance
In terms of their performance, Meizu Pro 6 Plus is powered by Exynos 8890 Octa core processor, according to Antutu test, it shows 112K points, although it’s not low, it still has 20K to 30K points gap from other Samsung Exynos 8890 processor.
Xiaomi MI Note 2 is powered by Snapdragon 821 quad core 2.35GHZ processor, and its CPU performance improved 10%, and GPU improved 5%. In Antutu test, it has got 151K points, which belongs normal level.
Huawei Mate 9 uses Kirin 960 processor, which has 4 2.4GHz cores and four 1.8GHz A53 processor and a i6 chipset, the effective performance has improved 15%. And the GPU improves 180% compared with the last generation.
According to Antutu score, Xiaomi MI Note 2 has the highest points, then Huawei Mate 9 and Meizu Pro 6 Plus. So MI Note 2 has best performance in theory. In terms of Geekbench, the performance of Exynos 8890 of Meizu Pro 6 Plus has the highest multi-core score and single-core score. Xiaomi MI Note 2 ranks the second, the last one is Huawei Mate 9. As for GPU in Geekbench, Kirin 960 is best, Snapdragon 821 and Samsung Exynos 8890 ranks the second and third. You will know which one is the best now.
Camera
As for camera comparison, in terms of camera pixel, Huawei Mate 9 has dual rear camera with 12MP and 20MP Leica Technology. Xiaomi MI Note 2 uses 22.56MP Sony IMX318 Sensor, but Meizu Pro 6 Plus uses 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor. In fact, it’s not the truth that the higher pixel the camera has, the picture quality it will have. But we have to choose the winner, we should know Huawei Mate 9 with dual rear Leica camera, in terms of technology, whether the screen resolution, algorithm, scene depth or blurring effect Huawei Mate 9 talks about, it has killed Xiaomi MI Note 2 and Meizu Pro 6 Plus with single back camera without any question.
But compared Xiaomi MI Note 2 with Meizu Pro 6 Plus, Meizu Pro 6 Plus only has 12MP Sony IMX318 sensor, which is the high-end Sony Exmor RS series, the pixel square is very big, even Sony its own flagship also uses IMX318. The color, night shooting and noise control are higher than MI Note 2 with IMX398. So in fact Meizu Pro 6 Plus can kill Xiaomi MI Note 2 in camera.
