Huawei’s new generation of folding screen flagship Huawei Mate X2 officially unveiled, both the screen and the folding hinge are fully upgraded, equipped with an 8-inch 8:7.1 folding screen golden ratio large screen, 6.45-inch internal screen.
In addition, Huawei Mate X2 pioneered a dual-wedge integrated design and a centre-of-gravity offset design, creating a new balance with asymmetry. The thinnest part is only 4.4mm, which makes it feel good.
For the folding machine, the gap after folding is a problem. On the Mate X2 folding machine, Huawei finally solved this problem by designing a double-rotating water drop hinge. It took five years to technically overcome it and cleverly achieve seamless micro-mark folding.
In addition, Mate X2 also uses a large number of carbon fibre composite materials, zirconium-based liquid metal, and >2100MPa super-strong steel. The material strength is higher than that of high-safety-grade automobile B-pillars to ensure the hinges are strong and reliable.
How about the folding effect of Mate X2? At the press conference, Yu Chengdong compared Samsung’s flagship folding screen Galaxy Z Fold 2 mobile phone. The first is the flatness after folding. Mate X2 can be seamless and integrated, and Z Fold 2 has obvious folding marks after folding.
Secondly, on the display, the Mate X2 is an 8-inch large screen after unfolding, and the display ratio is 8:7.1, which is known as the golden ratio and is more suitable for large-screen reading.
As for the folded external screen, the Mate X2 has a 6.45-inch screen. Compared with the Z Fold2 phone, the frame is reduced by 47%, the display area is 22% larger, and the display ratio is also more mainstream 21:9.
