Xiaomi held a joint press conference with carrier Softbank in Japan today to officially launch its new Redmi Note 9T phone that supports 5G and Felica in Japan. At the same time, the conference also released the REDMI 9T, as well as two smart watches and other ecological chain products. It is also the second Japanese carrier Xiaomi has entered the market in just over a year (the first being KDDI AU).
Zang Zhiyuan, marketing director of Xiaomi International Marketing Department, said that Japan can be called an island of smart phones in the world, with its own strict frequency band, certification standards and even the Japanese standard NFC(Felica). Operators account for more than 95% of the market.
The Redmi Note 9T is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor, a 6.53-inch perforated screen, FHD+ resolution, 5000mAh battery capacity, 18W fast charge support, and dual 5G SIM cards, we have learned.
Redmi Note 9T has a rear triple camera and a 48MP main camera. The phone also supports NFC and infrared transmitters.
Redmi Note 9T phone costs 19,637 yen for 4GB+64GB versions, or 21,600 yen (1,327 yuan) on Softbank’s website with tax.

Redmi 9T features a 6.53-inch FHD + display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, four rear cameras, a 48-megapixel sensor, side fingerprint recognition, a microSD extension of up to 512GB, a 6,000mAh battery with an 18W charge, and a MIUI 12(based on Android 10). The 4GB+64GB version costs 15,900 yen (about 977 yuan).
