Recently, AnandTech released a table comparing the performance of the Snapdragon 888 and the previous generation flagship Snapdragon 865. In simple terms, thanks to ARM’s Cortex-X1 architecture, the overall performance of the Snapdragon 888 CPU has increased by 25%. While it’s Adreno 660 GPU also increased the graphics performance by 35%.
Compared with the previous generation, 5G is also a highlight of the new SoC, which integrates a brand new 5nm baseband Snapdragon X60 with a stronger energy efficiency ratio. At the same time, Snapdragon X60 also supports SA/NSA dual-mode, mmWave millimeter wave, Sub-6GHz, and global multi-SIM cards, which can also further enhance consumers’ daily experience.
At present, Snapdragon 888 has been officially released, and we will see a large number of new flagships equipped with this SoC in 2021. If you are going to replace a 5G flagship phone, you might as well wait for these new products equipped with the newly launched processor.
