Huawei is expected to unveil the Huawei Mate 40 series of flagship smartphones in October. It is not yet clear if the Chinese manufacturer will present the foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X2. There is some data indicating that the Mate X2 could also be announced in the near future.
Recently, a Huawei device codenamed Teton appeared in the database of the Chinese regulator TENAA – it is believed that underneath it is the Mate X2. Now the same device, now under the name TEX-NX9, has received vital approval from the Wi-Fi Alliance, which once again indicates an imminent launch. The screenshot of the Wi-Fi certification of the Mate X2 shows that the device supports Wi-Fi 6 and runs Android 10.
The source who shared the information claims that the heart of Huawei Mate X2 is the flagship Kirin 9000 single-chip system, there is a HiSilicon Hi1105 chip for Wi-Fi 6. In August, it was reported that the production of the Mate X2 display would begin this month. The phone is expected to have a folding design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, meaning it folds inward rather than outward as it did in the Mate X.
The Huawei Mate X2 is speculated to receive an 8.3-inch main CPI panel from Samsung Display with a resolution of 2280 x 2220 pixels. The screen can support a 120Hz refresh rate. There will also be an external secondary display. A vertical strip with 4 cameras is also assumed: a 40MP main module, an ultra-wide-angle 40MP, a 12MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom, and a ToF module.
The Mate X2 can offer users optical stabilization as well. The smartphone will come with 8, 12, and 16GB of RAM, as well as 128, 256, and 512GB of internal storage. It will use a 6000mAh battery with support for 65W high-speed charging – but that’s all rumor. In August, it was already reported that mass production of the Huawei Mate X2 could begin in September, and it is likely that the device is in the final stages before release.
