According to LETSGODIGITAL, huawei technologies co LTD applied for a new design patent with China’s state intellectual property office (CNIPA) in mid-march 2020. The document consists of seven product images, and the patent was issued on September 11, 2020.
The patented device is a bit like Huawei Mate X, but not foldable. It is similar to xiaomi MI MIX Alpha’s surround screen design.
The back of the phone takes up about 60 to 70 percent of the screen surface. The rest of the space is made up of a rear tri-camera module. The device is made up of gray and silver.
It’s unclear whether Huawei really plans to release a wrap-around smartphone, as existing devices with a wrap-around screen design are limited to one model: the Mi MIX Alpha.
