Mediatek, a maker of mobile phone chips, announced the Dimensity 1000C, a single-chip 5G system tailored for the US. At the same time, the LG Velvet 5G phone with the chipset will go on sale in the United States and will be offered in partnership with T-Mobile.
We have learned that Dimensity 1000C is built based on 7nm technology and uses 4 ARM Cortex-A77 cores and 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores, as well as 5 ARM Mali G57 GPU.
In addition, Dimensity 1000C adopts Mediatek AI processing unit (APU 3.0), which can meet the needs of AI camera, AI assistant, application and other aspects for flagship smartphones.
According to digital blogger @Digital Chat, the running points of Dimensity 1000C have been exposed. Running points are similar to Huawei Kirin 820, easily exceeding Snapdragon 765G. 7nm+4*A77+4*A55 should be good for daily use, but it is not available in China.
For comparison, Dimensity 1000C has got 601 points in single core, the multi-core run into 2365 at Geekbench 5.
The Kirin 820 has a single core up to 601 points and a multi-core run of 2237 points.
Snapdragon 765G single core run is 607 and multi-core run is 1777.
