The semiconductor company from Taiwan, MediaTek, officially released its latest chipset, MediaTek Helio G95, which features enhanced MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology, multi-camera support, unmatched connectivity, and AI super-resolution for video streaming.
Aimed at the premium 4G gaming smartphone segment, the new chip will power the major smartphone brands hitting global markets in September. MediaTek Helio G95 offers gaming enthusiasts faster performance and high-end features like advanced multi-camera photography – up to 4 cameras, with a built-in artificial intelligence processing unit (APU). It provides two-word trigger functionality and enables standard HDR10 display, which can be enhanced to get closer to HDR10 + quality in real-time.
The MediaTek Helio G95 incorporates powerful Arm Cortex-A76 cores operating up to 2.05 GHz, plus six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores, upgraded Arm Mali-g76 MC4 GPUs, operating up to 900 MHz for advanced performance. single and multi-core. The chip is also equipped with an ultra-low-power, always-on DSP that supports dual-trigger word detection, ensuring perfect concurrency between two parallel voice-activated (VoW) functions. Ultra-low-power DSP minimizes the consumption of apps like the always-on Google Assistant and supports multiple keyword triggers and virtual assistants.
Enhanced MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology
Enhanced MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology enables networking, rapid response, image quality, and resource management engines for seamless gameplay and highly responsive user experience.
When the Wi-Fi signal is weak, the technology intelligently enables Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency, ensuring a smooth, lag-free connection during gameplay. It also enables the option to defer calls while in the game without a drop in connection and ensures dynamic and intelligent management of CPU, GPU, and memory.
Super-resolution AI display
MediaTek’s new chip offers a Super Resolution AI display for video calling and superior video streaming on various platforms such as Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime, and TikTok. It can support video qualities ranging from HD resolution 360p to 720p in real-time, reducing network bandwidth by up to 75% without any noticeable difference in quality. It features FHD + 90fps displays for fast response and smooth experience, making the chip ideal for gaming and everyday UI.
Premium imaging through multi-camera support
Offering multi-camera support for premium images, the chipset enables devices with cameras up to 64MP, with quad-pixel technology, for incredible low-light results during night shots. It also enables real-time bokeh portrait depth engines, AI-FD (AI Engine for Fast and Accurate Face Detection), Multiple Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR), Buckling, 3DNR, 4K 30fps video encoding, and decoding, along with built-in APU for AI camera enhancement.
MediaTek announces the Helio G95 and its manufacturer has told us that it will debut onboard new Realme smartphones promised to be announced on September 3. Other inexpensive devices aimed at the gamer public will be launched towards the end of 2020 also with this new MediaTek chip.
