Although sales of smartphones are stagnating due to the corona crisis, sooner or later you will have to replace your mobile device. They know this in Coolpad as well, which is about to launch a smartphone called Coolpad X10, which is considered the first budget 5G smartphone priced at just 1000 yuan (about $144).
The smartphone teaser was posted online. According to the company, the smartphone will be presented in China at an online event that will take place on August 12 at 3 pm local time.
The upcoming Coolpad X10 will be supported by China Telecom and use the domestic 5G chip from Unigroup Zhanrui’s Unisoc Tiger Ben T7510. The chipset is manufactured using a 12nm process and packs quad-core A75 CPU + quad-core A55 CPU. There’s also the PowerVR GM9446 graphics processor. It supports a downlink of 2Gbps and an uplink of 1Gbps. This will be the second smartphone to be powered by the Tiger Ben T7510 SoC, after Hisense F50.
It will reportedly have a stronger 4900mAh battery, a triple rear camera, a 6.51-inch screen, a Face Unlock with a special artificial intelligence system, as well as USB Type-C support through which it will quickly charge the battery.
The fingerprint reader is positioned sideways, which is very convenient. We find out that its price will be around $144, which could be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest 5G smartphone. So far, this is all the available information about the Coolpad X10. More details await us in just a couple of days.
