Recently Reported that Qualcomm seems to be still expanding the Snapdragon 86X series, and after continuing the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus, the next one to debut may be the Snapdragon 860.
The latest news mentions that the Snapdragon 860 will use the 7nm process and also support the 5G full network, which is consistent with the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus in terms of baseband configuration.
As for the details of the Snapdragon 860, it is still unclear, but there is news that it may be a streamlined version of the Snapdragon 875, and OPPO will be the first to be released and placed in its next-generation thin and light flagship.
Some sources said that Qualcomm’s launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 may be due to the increasing price gap between the Snapdragon 8 series and the Snapdragon 7 series. Therefore, the Snapdragon 860 must stand in this one to ensure performance and price. There are certain guarantees.
It was previously reported that Samsung’s 5nm process had another problem, and Qualcomm would transfer the order for the corresponding processor to TSMC for the sake of insurance.
The news mentioned that Qualcomm had asked TSMC for emergency assistance last month, hoping that the latter would be able to manufacture X60 basebands and Snapdragon 875G processors because of some problems with Samsung’s 5nm process. If according to Qualcomm’s previous plan, the preliminary orders for the Snapdragon 875G are mainly to Samsung, and some will be transferred to TSMC in the future.
