In the Galaxy Unpacked which was held on August 5, Samsung not only introduced the Galaxy Note 20 series but also introduced its newest tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 +. Both come with screens that have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, S Pen support, and already use the Snapdragon 865+ chipset.
Samsung concocted the Galaxy Tab S7 with a screen that is bigger than the corner. The screen panel used is AMOLED with a size of 12.4 inches and has a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels. The tablet, which has screen brightness of up to 420 nits, is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner sensor under the screen.
The Galaxy Tab S7 + is also armed with an upgraded S Pen from the Note20 Ultra, which now has a latency of only 9 ms. It also integrates with Microsoft Office, but compared to the Note Series, the Galaxy Tab S7 + has an optional keyboard add-on and a DeX mode which is always available and offers a laptop-like experience.
The Galaxy Tab S7 + is only 5.7 mm thick, but a 10090mAh battery is installed inside the body. Also, even though the tablet supports 45W charging, users will need to purchase a charger with the proper Power Delivery capability separately.
As mentioned above, the Galaxy Tab S7 + is powered by the Snapdragon 865+ chipset, which is slightly faster than the Snapdragon 855+ chipset found on the Galaxy Tab S6 5G which was launched earlier this year. The chipset pairs with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be upgraded using microSD.
In addition to the 6GB RAM option plus 128GB of internal storage, Samsung also presents the Galaxy Tab S7 + with a choice of 8GB RAM accompanied by 256GB of internal storage. The back of this tablet has two cameras, 13MP as the main lens and 5MP as an ultra-wide lens. For video call needs, there is an 8MP front camera.
The Galaxy Tab S7 is an alternative to the “+” (Plus) model which is certainly offered a little cheaper. This tablet has a smaller screen size, which is 11 inches and still uses an LTPS IPS LCD panel. Even so, this tablet has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and the latest S Pen with a latency of 26 ms (same as the Galaxy Note20).
Apart from being smaller in width and height, the Tab S7 is also up to almost 100 grams lighter, which makes the tablet a lot more comfortable for traveling. The battery capacity is only 7040mAh, but Samsung boasts that this new tablet can be used for a long time, 15 hours to play videos.
In addition, the Galaxy Tab S7 also uses the same chipset that is on the Galaxy Tab S7 +. Samsung has also equipped it with the same memory options, namely 6GB / 128GB and 8GB / 256GB. Likewise with camera support, 13MP + 5MP on the back, and 8MP on the front.
DeX mode can also run perfectly on Galaxy Tab S7 and users can also enhance this tablet with the Book Cover Keyboard which is also equipped with a touchpad. In addition, the USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port supports DisplayPort so that users can connect this tablet to an external monitor with one cable.
The attractiveness of this new tablet made by Samsung, both Tab S7 and S7 +, are both equipped with four AKG speakers (two on the left, two on the right). It also supports Dolby Atmos in case the user wants to watch movies. Unlike the Galaxy Tab S7 +, Samsung has equipped the Tab S7 with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
For those of you who are curious about the prices of these two tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 + arrive in Europe today. The first tablet will be available in Wi-Fi only and 4G versions starting at $649.99, while the Galaxy Tab S7 + will be available in Wi-Fi only and 5G versions starting at $849.99.
