Earlier this week, a Weibo’s famous tipster Digital Chat Station announced that iQOO will launch the iQOO 5 series this month and today the company issued a confirmation through its Weibo account. It will unveil the iQOO 5 series on August 17th. The iQOO 5 series could be the world’s first 120W fast-charging smartphone.
A new poster released by iQOO states that the iQOO 5 series will be officially unveiled on August 17 in China at 2:30 pm local time. The poster features “120W” and “15 minutes,” which indicate that this series will arrive with support for 120W ultra-fast charging technology, introduced last month.
At the recent ChinaJoy technology show, iQOO unveiled a mysterious 120W ultra-fast charging phone. Fast charging technology can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in just 15 minutes.
This series includes a low-cost phone and another model with support for 120W fast charging, according to Digital Chat Station. The device shown at the ChinaJoy event is likely to be the iQOO 5 Pro phone. Since the phone was well covered by the case, its design was not visible from the back.
The device, which was unveiled at the China trade show, features a curved, perforated AMOLED display. The display supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. There is a possibility that this model will be powered by the new Snapdragon 865 Plus mobile platform. The iQOO 5 series is expected to be about two weeks away from launch, and the company will release details on its specifications and capabilities in the coming days.
