OnePlus finally introduced today its incredibly anticipated smartphone with the simple name OnePlus Nord, which is equipped with a 48MP main camera like the one on OnePlus 8, also 90-Hz Fluid AMOLED technology and 30p Warp Charge.
This smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset. Maybe, that’s the only thing that clearly indicates that Nord isn’t a flagship smartphone. OnePlus also promises to support Nord by releasing OS updates for two years and security patches for one year longer.
When this smartphone is taken out of its package, you will see that OnePlus Nord runs with the Android operating system 10. Additionally, the 6.44-inch Fluid AMOLED screen with FullHD + resolution has been protected using Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The two front cameras have a configuration of 32MP (Sony IMX616) with a pixel size of 0.8 um combined with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a viewing angle of up to 105 degrees. Having such a perspective, OnePlus claims that group selfies with Nord can be done without a ticket.
Meanwhile on the back, OnePlus slides a 64MP main camera sensor with an f / 1.75 aperture, OIS and EIS. Basically, this is the same camera module as found on OnePlus 8 (Sony IMX586, pixel size 0.8 um).
The 64MP main camera in Nord is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a viewing angle of up to 119 degrees. In addition, OnePlus also embeds a 2MP macro lens and the last camera module is a 5MP depth sensor for bokeh photo needs.
For security, OnePlus has provided Nord with a fingerprint reader on the screen. Opening the screen using the face is also an option that can be used by the user. In the upper left corner of the screen, OnePlus places two cameras at once in a pill-shaped punch hole.
For power supplies, this smartphone has a 4115mAh battery and in its sales box, OnePlus includes a 30T Warp Charge charger. It is said by OnePlus thanks to Warp Charge 30T support, an empty battery can be charged 70% within 30 minutes via USB-C port. One thing you should also note, OnePlus Nord comes without the support of a 3.5mm audio jack port. In addition, OnePlus Nord is also not equipped with waterproof capabilities.
Meanwhile, related to the colors offered, OnePlus Nord has two color choices, namely Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. OnePlus will be marketed for the first time in two regions, Asia and Europe. However, the prices for the smartphone still start at 399 euros ($460) for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB data storage. The larger model with 12 and 256GB costs 499 euros ($575). Both can be ordered from August 4th.
