Xiaomi applied to CNIPA (China Intellectual Property Office) for a patent for an under-screen camera Xiaomi Real Full-Screen. Foreign media Letsgodigital reported that the patent was approved on April 24, 2020. And then published in the WIPO global design database to protect the design worldwide.
Now, graphic designer Jermaine Smit (also known as ConceptCreator) has created a series of renderings based on the patent. Allowing us to spy on the appearance of Xiaomi’s under-screen camera Xiaomi Real Full-Screen.
As shown in the picture, Xiaomi Real Full-Screen has no bangs gaps and no hole-punch camera system and is truly a full-screen display. The patent shows that Xiaomi can place the front camera in the middle or left side of the display. Whenever the selfie camera is activated. The part of the screen where the selfie camera is located becomes transparent so that the camera can capture the content in front of it. When exiting the selfie camera, the screen returns to the normal display state.
The Xiaomi Real Full Screen has a straight-faced display screen and has a vertically placed three-camera system with an LED flash below it. On the side, you can find the power button and volume keys. At the bottom, you can find the speaker grille and USB-C port.
