Together with the new MIUI 12, Xiaomi has just announced the Mi 10 Youth Edition (or Lite depending on the markets) in China. The device, which has been much talked about these days, is the cheapest smartphone with support for the 5G network of the moment. In fact, the mid-range specifications with the support for new generation connectivity, combined with a relatively very low price, make the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition very interesting and unique.
The Specifications
We see that in appearance it is that same box that the Mi 10 Youth Edition presented, reused to fit again a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD + resolution. Notch in its upper part to fit the front and rear camera quite clear, since the fingerprint reader is integrated with this panel.
The weight and thickness that it reaches are therefore the same as those we saw in the 10 Youth Edition, slightly below 200 grams and 8mm, housing a 4160mAh battery. The back has a curvature on the sides and bright colors, in some cases with that gradient and reflections so fashionable lately.
Although we see that in terms of processor the Snapdragon 765G, the flagship of Qualcomm for the mid-range this year, is used again, but that there are some more memory options. From 4 to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage is what this Mi 10 offers for the youngest.
It is interesting to note that the phone has NFC and a 3.5 mm minijack. It has high-definition audio and, although it is not yet available at the moment, in this same presentation event they have released MIUI 12, the new version of the Xiaomi software layer.
The real change is its 50x digital zoom, integrating periscope tele that allows a 5x optical zoom. This camera has double OIS, which is very interesting in order to obtain less shaky images with the zoom at higher magnifications.
The rest of the cameras, including the front one, remain similar to those of the 10 Youth Edition, opting for the combination with a wide-angle with an 8MP sensor, a macro with a 2MP sensor, and the main one with the 48MP one. The front camera with its 16MP sensor appears through the notch.
Price and availability
Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition is already available for pre-order in China, and its sales in the country will begin on Thursday, April 30. Available colors – white, pink, blue, black-green. In addition, a special version in the style of the anime “Doraemon” will go on sale.
