In 2016, Xiaomi released its first electric scooter in 1999 yuan. By the way, this is the first product of Xiaomi that won the Red Dot Design Award. After a lapse of 4 years, today the company releases an upgraded electric scooter under the name Xiaomi Electric Scooter 1S, which is offered in China for 1999 yuan (about $282).
The biggest change is the addition of a visual interactive dashboard, which supports self-checking when the vehicle is powered on. If there is a malfunction, the “maintenance” icon automatically lights up. Under driving status, real-time speed, power, and other information can be seen at a glance; using a simple operation logic, all driving operations can be completed with one button.
The new scooter continues the minimalist geometric design. Its aviation-grade aluminum alloy body has a net weight of 12.5Kg and can withstand loads of up to 100 kg. Thanks to the unique folding buckle design, it can be folded in just 3 seconds.
It uses an integrated brushless DC motor with a service life of 3000 hours, rated power of 250W, and offers instantaneous maximum power up to 500W. The maximum speed is 25 km / h, and the battery capacity will be enough for 30 km. Three operating modes are offered – eco-friendly, energy-efficient, normal and sporty.
It is equipped with 8.5-inch tires and wear-resistant anti-skid wheels. It has a dual front and rear brake design. The front-wheel has E-ABS anti-lock system, and the rear wheel uses a mechanical disc brake for the best and more effective braking experience.
Lastly, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 1S is also equipped with an energy recovery system. When the scooter is moving, you need to press the brake handle or release the throttle to start the energy recovery system, so that it will turn kinetic energy into electricity, offering a better battery life.
