Oppo has confirmed who will present on April 13 near the successor to the Reno Ace, smartphones introduced in October last only for the Chinese market, the first brand to use the charging SuperVOOC 65W. This was stated by Vice President Brian Shen with a laced message published on Weibo. OPPO successor Reno Ace will not have “Reno” on his moniker. Therefore, the latest device will debut as OPPO Ace 2.
Oppo Ace 2 has already received the TENAA certification which contains images of the terminal and a reference to the technical characteristics. As we can see, the display can be identified from the front with the small hole in the upper left corner to house the front camera.
On the back stands out the circular module that encloses the four cameras. A growing trend is to propose circular modules for the photographic sector: more and more manufacturers are adopting it, starting from Huawei and OnePlus up to the recent Nokia 8.3 presented in recent days.
The images showing the side profile highlight the protrusion of the rear camera module.
The LED flash is positioned on the right of the camera module, while it was not visible – it was supposed to be positioned on the left. In the first presumed photo of the smartphone released a few days ago. The TENAA documentation is undoubtedly reliable, so there are two hypotheses: there are two variants or the previous photo is false (or represents a prototype).
In the shot released by the Chinese social network, the curved edges also caught the eye. While on the bottom edge there are two grilles for the speaker and the USB-C connector. Finally, the two buttons on the left side should serve for adjusting the volume. Oppo Ace 2 will therefore adopt a completely different design from its predecessor.
Complete Specifications
In addition, the picture of the technical characteristics that emerge from the TENAA documentation includes. The Oppo Ace 2 has a 6.5 inch AMOLED screen that offers full HD + resolution. A screen that supports a 20: 9 aspect ratio has a hole for its 16MP selfie camera. The screen is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.
The PDHM00 phone is getting power from a 2.8GHz octa-core processor which can be a Snapdragon 865 SoC. The phone will arrive in 8GB and 12GB RAM options and 128GB and 256GB storage versions. The Oppo Ace 2 does not have a microSD card slot. This handset has a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP camera system.
Lastly, OPPO Ace 2 will hold a two-part battery. The capacity of a single cell is 1955mAh. The 3C’s appearance on the cellphone revealed that it might come with a fast 65W charger. Besides, OPPO has confirmed that Ace 2 will have support for 40W fast wireless charging. Of course, it will run on the Android 10 OS in addition to the ColorOS 7 interface. For now, it’s too early to talk about a sale date and price, but this phone maybe goes on sale in the second half of April.
