After the presentation of the Galaxy S20, the first leaks of the next Samsung flagship are now has come out. With a launch scheduled for August this year, should the current coronavirus crisis fail to dramatically alter the company’s schedule, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will debut with an interesting design, performance and camera updates.
Known under the codename Project Canvas, recently the Galaxy Note 20 was seen in HQ renderings. This is courtesy of LetsGoDigital and Concept Creator, suggesting it would have a 6.9 or 7-inch Super AMOLED curved display with Infinity-O design, a QHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
In February, Samsung Display introduced its new OLED displays optimized for the 5G era. That reduces blue light emission and energy consumption. According to Jee-ho Baek, the company’s vice president of mobile devices. These panels would offer “sharp images, distinctive designs, economical power consumption, and increasingly eye-protective functionality.”
This type of screen would help to improve the high battery consumption that a 120Hz refresh rate demands. Also, the renowned leaksters Ice Universe and Max Weinbach have agreed that the series will wear a design very similar to the Galaxy S20, except that it would come with square corners and next to a renewed S-Pen.
As for performance
The next premium Samsung phones will have 5G connectivity as a standard. So they will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor for models aimed at the United States. And the Exynos 990 chipset for the rest of the countries. Plus, they’ll get up to 16GB of RAM and a 5000mAh battery.
On the other hand, the photographic section of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 would also bear great similarities to that of the S20, according to Ice Universe. In that sense, we can expect a system composed of up to four cameras. In which a 108MP sensor, although they would offer better performance.
In this case, Samsung would adopt this space reduction to launch it at a more competitive price. Should the manufacturer follow last year’s schedule, the Galaxy Note 20 series will be officially announced in August. So, for now, this information should be seen only as guesses.
