MIUI is a kind of system created based on Android by Xiaomi. It was made to add more customization options and improvements to the brand’s devices, to extract their full potential. A recent update to Android 10 on some devices brought more improvements and we learned more about MIUI 12, which should bring a dark mode to the entire system.
It turns out that today Jin Fan, director of products for Xiaomi, revealed some of the new functions that are yet to reach MIUI 11 at Weibo. The first is a global dark mode that will cover the entire system. The current version of MIUI already has a dark mode, however, it cannot work in all applications, including some on the system, such as Security and Cleaning, for example.
According to the director, the global dark mode will use color inversion to make dark white background applications, both system and downloaded applications, and the feature is already being tested on the Mi 9 in beta. It should be available steadily later this year.
Improvements in the gestures and animations of the system should be available in the future as well, however, they are still being tested according to the feedback of users and should be in the development version of the system by 2020.
In the message posted on Weibo, Jin added that the Themes app will be available again to users of the European version of MIUI. Recently, due to local laws, the application needed to be disabled in this version, but now its permissions have been revamped and it is working again, see what the director said:
“Hey, my fans! We have great news from Xiaomi. Remember that MIUI Themes was temporarily suspended for all regions of the European Union? Well, this year he goes back and forth with more force than ever. The MIUI Themes application will be available again and users will be able to use the Themes website to download themes for their devices ”.
The suspension of this application caused some annoyance for users, who were unable to modify or install new themes on their devices, but according to Jin, everything returned to normal.
