A few days ago, Realme India CEO Madhav Seth officially announced that next year the company plans to diversify its offerings with new IoT products. The smartphone manufacturer already has many phones and accessories for them. The company recently launched a good Realme Buds Air wireless headset. It looks like the company is now working on the first fitness bracelet – it’s a pretty big market.
In the latest episode of AskMadhav, Mr. Seth revealed preliminary dates for the release of the company’s first tracker. According to data announced in the program, this will happen in the first half of 2020. AskMadhav is a monthly program in which the CEO of Realme India answers the most popular question asked by fans.
Recently, Realme’s first smart bracelet rendering was released on social networking sites. As you can see, the product uses an iconic yellow color for the silicone strap. And there is also a rectangular screen like its main rivals of the Mi Band and Huawei/Honor Band.
If the company launches the bracelet, it will face huge competition from other leaders like Xiaomi with its Mi Band or Huawei and Honor with its offerings. It is noteworthy that the fitness wristband market is becoming more saturated, as more and more influential smartphone makers are trying to attract consumers’ attention.
In addition, Set also talked about an external battery with support for high-speed VOOC charging – the launch of such a device is also planned, but the exact dates are not yet known. In this episode, he also talked about upgrading Android 10 to older Realme devices and promised to launch a ton of new products for the IoT industry next year. Well, it would be interesting to see how Realme can attract buyers of fitness bracelets. With the advent of new products in the portfolio, Realme is gradually becoming more competitive with Xiaomi.
