In recent years the screens have greatly increased their size thanks to some much thinner edges, standardizing the six inches as the most common size in smartphones of all ranges. And the iPhone has also followed that trend, exceeding six inches in recent generations. Now we have learned new information that suggests that the largest iPhone in 2020 will also be the largest that Apple has launched in its history.
If the rumors are correct, Apple is preparing a big change in the size of the upcoming iPhone screens. According to market analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who specializes in tracking the company, next year’s models will feature 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7-inch screens.
The largest screen currently available on an iPhone is the 6.5 inch iPhone 11 Pro Max. A 5.4-inch panel model would be good news for those who prefer more compact handsets: it would be the smallest screen since the launch of the iPhone XR in 2018.
According to the analyst, the 5.4 and 6.7-inch models would use Samsung OLED screens. The 6.1-inch model would use an LG OLED panel. Currently iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max use OLED screens, while iPhone 11 uses an LCD screen. Already the website ETNews informs that Apple will produce at least four models of iPhone in 2020 since at least one of them will have a version equipped with 5G.
