Xiaomi‘s debut in the 5G world took place thanks to the Mi MIX 3 5G. The brand presented the device during the Mobile World Congress 2019 last February. The manufacturer, for the realization of the device, started from the Mi MIX 3 in the 4G version presented in 2018. The changes made concern various components including the modem, a more powerful System on a Chip and a larger battery.
Despite the device now having several months on its shoulders, Xiaomi does not seem to want to stop the production, rather it wants to give new life to the Mi MIX 3 5G. In fact, a new variant of the device has arrived at the TENAA offices. The main changes concern the allocation of system memory and RAM.
The new version will be equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and this variant will complement the 6 / 64GB version. Until this new announcement, the Mi MIX 3 5G was only available in this configuration. Moreover, in the TENAA documents, we read that the device has an Android 10 operating system, so the major update should arrive soon.
For the rest, all the technical features remain unchanged. We recall that Xiaomi for the Mi MIX 3 5G chose a 6.39 inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. There are no holes or notches on the display, as the design is a slider, so it slides to reveal all the various sensors and the 24 + 2MP dual camera.
The processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and on the back, it is possible to find a dual 12MP camera. The battery is 3800mAh with Quick Charge 4+ fast charge support and up to 10W with wireless charging. At the moment it is not clear if this version will be a Chinese exclusive or if it will also arrive in other markets.
