As promised, Mediatek has finally launched its first chip that supports 5G networks built-in. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G is a chip that not only supports the latest generation of cellular networks but also reduces battery usage on mobile devices. The Doogee company, which has attracted attention with its durable phones, was introduced with the new flagship model S95 Pro. Also, the Chinese Doogee revealed that they will be bringing 5G smartphones in 2020 using MediaTek’s new SoC.
Also, Doogee was introduced 5G Mod for their modular smartphone. A solution that allows you to keep the price of the device but – at the same time – not to preclude this path for users who want to use connectivity 5G when it will be available for everyone. The download speed peak reaches 3.5 Gbps, while 1 Gbps is the real value expected for daily use. The upload speed measured in the laboratory has caught the 1.2 Gbps, while the real value is around 350-450 Mbps.
Also, many smartphone manufacturers began launching 5G-capable smartphones. The lead on 5G smartphones is currently taken by Samsung’s Note 10 Series and Huawei’s Mate 30 Series but there is no 5G rugged smartphone on the market. Dimensity 1000 is the 3rd 5G SoC on the market and is manufactured with TSMC’s 7nm production process. It comes with the latest ARM Cortex-A77 cores operating at up to 2.6 GHz and -according to the company- the overall performance is even faster than Huawei’s new Kirin 990. The GPU used is Mali G77 and supports FHD+ displays up to 120Hz and 2K+ displays up to 90Hz.
As for the networks supported, Dimensity 1000 supports NSA/SA 5G networks and 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC CA), the downlink/uplink speeds are up to 4.7Gbps/2.5Gbps over sub-6GHz networks, 2 times higher than Kirin 990 SoC. Dimensity 1000 is also the world’s first 5G flagship chipset which supports dual 5G SIM/dual standby, and it also integrates the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1+ standards!
Also, coming with the world’s 1st five-core image signal processor (ISP), Dimensity 1000 supports 80MP cameras sensors at 24fps and a range of multi-camera options such as 32+16MP dual cameras. The rest of Doogee’s new device specs are yet to be revealed. In short, it has all the credentials to compete on equal terms with the various Snapdragon 865, Kirin 990 5G and Exynos 990. In fact, Dimensity 1000 aims to bring MediaTek back to the high-end processor market. Stay tuned on Doogee official website or Facebook to learn more about the devices.
