In China, the Xiaomi’ sub-brand Redmi has begun to take its independence, and now offers flagships like the Redmi K20. The brand is now ready to unveil the Redmi K30, its first smartphone 5G. Today, the general manager of Redmi and VP of Xiaomi Lu Weibing has published a post on his Weibo profile announcing that on December 10 they will hold an event in China in which the Redmi K30 will be presented.
The Redmi K30 will be the first 5G smartphone from the Redmi brand. It has been previously confirmed to include two front cameras, which are positioned in the upper left corner of the screen. The previous Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are sold internationally under the Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro brand names, and it is possible that the Redmi K30 will also be available later on under the Xiaomi brand.
Qualcomm’s 7 Series system chip is featured in the Redmi K30. In terms of 5G network connectivity, it has been confirmed that the Redmi K30 will support not only the Non-Standalone version (NSA), which is still based on 4G networks but also the next generation full 5G, Standalone (SA).
Recently, leaks from the Redmi K30 also revealed a 20: 9 aspect ratio display at 6.66 inches, 2400 x 1080 pixels, and a fast refresh rate of 120 Hertz, which is still extraordinary. Rumors have it that the Redmi K30 would also have a fingerprint reader on its side and possibly Sony’s new IMX686 camera sensor.
Officials have also seen new phones from Xiaom with 30 and 66-watt charging support. Alongside the Redmi K30 is also expected the Redmi K30 Pro, which could be the latter. The rest of the specifications are unknown, although most likely, from now on the day of the presentation, on December 10, the company will share some details of what, they say, will be the cheapest 5G mobile.
