Although the screen brightness of the smartphones now satisfies users to a great extent, there are situations where the screens are not bright enough to be used outdoors. In the MIUI 11 interface, Xiaomi is working on a new screen brightness mode that will make it easier to use in daylight. This new setting called “Sunlight Mode” has been discovered.
Specifically, this new option has begun to be tested in the Chinese ROM of MIUI 11, allowing us to deactivate the automatic brightness adjustment, but even so and under certain conditions, it will be automatically activated so that we can see the screen when sunlight hits fully on this.
In detail, once we activate this new option, even if the automatic brightness is deactivated, it will be able to detect changes in ambient lighting. In this way, if the 12,000 lumens are exceeded for at least 5 seconds, the brightness of the screen will rise to its maximum level, allowing us to see it with total clarity, we will still be in broad daylight.
Once the lighting values return to a level below 12,000 lumens, the brightness adjustment will return to its previous level. With this, our device will be able to determine when it is necessary to maximize the brightness of the screen without constantly having the automatic brightness activated, thus benefiting from extra energy savings.
As we said, this new functionality is still being tested in the Chinese ROM, so it won’t be until a few weeks later when we see it in the Stable version of the Global ROM of MIUI 11.
