After confirming the release date, Xiaomi has revealed all the details of its new eBook Reader, which should be available for sale on Wednesday. As we know, the new device is a direct competitor of the popular Amazon Kindle.
That’s why the new eBook Reader comes with an e-Ink display that offers a pixel density of 212 PPI. In addition, this display also has anti-glare technology and has a built-in LED light to aid in reading in dark environments.
Xiaomi promises that this lighting has simple 24-stage control, ensuring “the ideal brightness for indoor and outdoor environments.” See below some images of the promotion of the device.
Internally, the new Xiaomi eBook Reader features an Allwinner quad-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz. The chipset works together with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
To power the whole set, we still have an 1800mAh battery. According to the Chinese giant, this capacity is sufficient to guarantee a few weeks of autonomy. Finally, the new device runs Android 8.1 Oreo and supports major extensions in the market.
You can read books, PDF files, comics and web based pages. In addition, major EPUB, PDF and txt formats are supported.
the new Xiaomi eBook Reader weight is only 178 grams and it goes on sale on Wednesday November 20. Available only in the Chinese market, it can be purchased for 579 yuan ($82) on the crowdfunding platform of Xiaomi, while its retail price is 599 yuan ($85).
