Earlier this week, Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi announced a new version of the ultra-compact RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition laptop with Ryzen 3000 mobile processors, which until then was only available in configurations with the tenth-generation Intel Core chips (Comet Lake). Now there are details about the configurations of the RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition and prices.
So, in China, pre-orders for the RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition will open next Monday, October 21. On the eve of the informants promised very attractive prices and the manufacturer did not disappoint. If the RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition is in the basic configuration with an Intel Core i5-10210U processor (4/8, 1.6-3.9-4.2 GHz, 6MB L3 cache), 8GB of RAM and 256 SSDGB is now offered for $560.
The younger configuration of the RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition with AMD Ryzen 5 3500U CPU and the same memory capacity is estimated at $424. That is, the price difference is almost $140. In addition to the basic Ryzen 5 3500U CPU, there are three more configurations:
AMD Ryzen 5 3500U + 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD – $465;
AMD Ryzen 7 3700U + 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD – $535;
AMD Ryzen 7 3700U + 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD – price is still unknown.
RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition laptops use overclocked versions of AMD processors. Also, new items are distinguished by support for fast charging (a battery with a capacity of 45Wh is charged in half in 35 minutes), a high-quality Dolby DTS audio subsystem and fast data exchange technology (similar to Huawei Share OneHop).
Recently, the company had revealed that the RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition will come in 2 variants in terms of the processor AMD Ryzen 5 3500U and AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor. The device is confirmed to pack up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Yesterday, the company has also revealed that it will come with support for a new feature on the device support for the company’s new cross-brand file transfer feature which can transfer files between laptops and smartphones without any file size limit and can transfer over 1000 images and HD videos in a blink of an eye.
Xiaomi had claimed that with the launch of this RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition, the company will be declaring war on the unreasonably high-priced premium laptops. The company also added that it aims to balance the price to the ratio of performance.
