Samsung uses a variety of shapes for mounting a front-facing camera on their phones, including a hole in the screen that can be found on Samsung Galaxy S10 models. Recently, the company patented a new smartphone through the South Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
This patent shows that the Galaxy S11 +, which will be the top model of the Galaxy S11 series, which is expected to be released in February 2020, can come with a triple front camera system. The front camera, which will be positioned on the screen as in the Galaxy S10 series, will come in an improved manner this time. As it is known, the Galaxy S10 + and S10 5G had two front cameras.
Having a triple camera sensor on the front will give the Samsung Galaxy S11 + a significant advantage over its competitors. Apart from the standard sensor, this triple installation can have a depth sensor, ultra-wide-angle camera or motion sensor similar to that found on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Samsung’s new flagship may include two new sensors for 3D face recognition instead of the depth sensor, as the South Korean company has lagged slightly behind the Pixel 4’s Face Unlock and Apple’s Face ID technologies.
The resulting patent also shows an ultra-thin bezel on the corners of the phone, and the triple camera opening has been reduced compared to the previous model. While the camera system appears to be located on the left side of the screen, it is almost certain that the display is AMOLED. The fact that the Galaxy S11 + will come with a triple camera shows that the Galaxy S11 will probably come with two front cameras, while the Galaxy S11e will come with a single camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S11 is expected to be officially introduced before the MWC 2020 event on February 18th. It is also rumored that the company will use the Snapdragon 865 processor in its new flagship phones. Expected to come with the One UI 2.1, the phone is said to come with features such as an on-screen fingerprint sensor, 108MP camera, and 5x zoom, 12GB RAM and 1TB storage.
