Black, White, Blue, Red… Are you tired of monochromatic color for the back of your smartphone? Most phone makers like Apple took far too long to realize that smartphone colors really matter to consumers, and only recently began wooing them with fancy-sounding hues like Midnight-Green or Space Silver. No wonder most people obscure their phones’ rear panels in opaque plastic. At least with cases, you can customize them to give your device a little individuality. But, the new UMIDIGI F2 will make you want to risk going caseless. The UMIDIGI F2 features the company’s all-new “Holographic Design”, which is industry-leading craftsmanship that is not easy to find in the budget segment.
To achieve this 3D shimmering optical illusion, UMIDIGI designed its UMIDIGI F2 with a depth layer containing millions of shimmering, microscopic prisms with curved textures, and on top of that, a 2.5D curved glass layer. Combined together, these cause light to dance across the back of your phone as you move it around.
Beneath these dynamic glass layers, you’ll find two colors for the UMIDIGI F2: Phantom Blue and Midnight Black. Descriptors like “Phantom” and “Midnight” are actually fitting — these phones’ color gradients really do evoke the appearance of a dynamic pattern or a twinkling night sky.
UMIDIGI’s design innovations are hardly restricted to color. Look at the UMIDIGI F2’s camera layout above. Rather than crop the front display to make room for a front camera, UMIDIGI instead cut a 4.5mm punch-hole into the top-left of the display to house the 32MP selfie camera, leaving more curved-screen real estate for your swiping needs. Combining the side fingerprint sensor on the edge of the frame you’re left with a comfortably skinny phone with a nearly bezel-less 6.53’’ FHD+ display.
One the back, the UMIDIGI F2’s 48MP ultra-wide macro quad-camera setup is laid out in an L-shape instead of the traditional I-shape—leaving more room inside for a 5150mAh big battery with NFC. Others, the phone is powered by 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage, Helio P70 SoC, and the latest stock Android 10.
The UMIDIGI F2 will start global sales on October 14 on Aliexpress. The price is yet to be revealed but we expect it to be less than $250. And to celebrate UMIDIGI 8 Year’s sale, there should be a very affordable price on October 14 – 16, so you’d better add the F2 to cart now at the UMIDIGI Official Store on Aliexpress in case you miss the deal. Lastly, in order to improve the user experience, UMIDIGI is running a big giveaway to recruit 10 trial users for the UMIDIGI F2. You can check out the full specs of F2 and join the giveaway on their official website.
