After officially unveiling the Redmi 8A on Wednesday afternoon, Xiaomi confirms “unintentionally” that the company is already planning to introduce a new, higher-performance variant of the low-cost smartphone family.
On Xiaomi’s official website about the radiofrequency (RF) energy exposure and specific absorption rate (SAR) data of its devices, the company cites not only the new Redmi 8A but also the unannounced Redmi 8A Pro. Although the device is cited on the site, there is no mention of the RF exposure details or SAR rate or model number.
Announced yesterday, the Redmi 8A is the direct successor of the Redmi 7A and features a neat looking plastic body for an input device and to the delight of many already offers the reversible USB Type-C connector. The powerful battery has no less than a 5000mAh cell and still supports fast 18W charging.
The 6.2-inch screen has HD + resolution, drop notch and 19: 9 aspect ratio, while the chipset implemented in the input device is the Snapdragon 439. The device has a 12MP rear camera with the excellent IMX363 sensor. used in middlemen, and an 8MP front camera.
With the Redmi 8A Pro, the company is expected to introduce some hardware changes such as a more powerful new chipset and rear camera assembly enhancement, but the model’s frame and the front panel should remain essentially the same.
