LG has already announced that it will present a new flagship at the IFA 2019 fair in Berlin later this month. Although so far there has not been much information about the phone, it is believed that it could be the new LG G8x ThinQ and now we have been able to see renders that reveal some details revealing details of the device.
The LG G8X ThinQ is the successor of the G8 ThinQ that was launched at the MWC in February this year and has a glass rear panel as its predecessor. It also keeps the rear cameras aligned horizontally, next to which are the flash and the sensors.
Its 6.2 ″ screen features a waterdrop notch to house the front camera, an improvement over the wider notch design of the LG G8. It has thin frames on both sides of the screen, and slightly thicker at the top and bottom. The overall dimensions of the phone are 159.3 x 75.8 x 8.5mm.
The fingerprint sensor mounted on the back of the LG G8 is not present in the G8X and, in addition, there is not enough space in the notch to incorporate technology similar to Face ID, which seems to indicate the presence of a sensor Fingerprints will integrate on-screen. If this is the case, the G8X ThinQ would be the first LG phone to have this feature.
The power button is present on the right, while on the left are the volume up and down keys. There is another button below the volume controls, which is expected to be to invoke the Google Assistant, as we have seen in the LG G8 ThinQ.
The SIM card tray is located at the top, while at the bottom edge there is a speaker grille, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is also a headset at the top, which indicates that LG renounces the Crystal Sound OLED speaker of the G8, which makes the screen vibrate to produce sound.
Since the G8X ThinQ is the successor of the LG G8 ThinQ, we expect it to work with the Snapdragon 855 or 855+ chipset. It is likely that the screen has QHD resolution, while the cameras could be formed by a standard and wide-angle lens.
Although no more details are known about the phone, the Dutch Android World website got an IFA invitation from LG that says the G8X ThinQ will be launched in that region this fall.
