Sometimes we love watching ads; preferably, when some brand use creative content that connects to our emotions. But what if your system keeps on showing you so many ads without your permission and don’t even let you work. Well, this is something annoying.
You might have heard about Adware; it is a piece of software that is responsible for displaying loads of ads on a computer. There are numbers of software developers who design malicious adware to infect computers so that users can be redirected to their websites. There are many such annoying malware in the cyber world; however, here we have listed the most common ones that appear to be more destructive:
- Fireball:
This malicious adware was introduced to the world in the year 2017 when it infected more than 250 million computers at once. This adware was designed by a famous China-based digital marketing company, Rafotech, and it is a kind of browser hijacker. In case if you install any random software designed by the same company; for example, Deal WiFi and Mustang Browser, chances are that your system will also get this adware without your consent.
- Appearch:
This malicious software also acts as a browser hijacker, and in most cases, it enters your system along with some freely available software tools. The biggest trouble with this adware is: it is present in numbers of advertisement that may pop-up anytime on your browser. Once it attacks your system, it starts creating trouble in normal browsing and surfing experience. It will repeatedly show a message saying limited access to the website that you try to open on the affected system.
- Dollar Revenue:
Although this adware has not caused any major destruction from the past few years, one should collect some information about it as well. Note that, it was the first type of adware in the cyber world that infected systems throughout the globe. It first downloads a new browser toolbar on the system and then keeps on tacking all user activities online. At the same time, it also keeps on showing loads of advertisements that look so annoying and can even make it difficult to browse the desired content. This adware originated from the Netherlands in the year 2005 and just within two years, it infected almost 22 million systems all over the world.
- Gator:
Same as the previous one, Gator is also not active in the market these days, but at early days, it was very devastating; especially when clubbed with Go!Zilla and Kazaa. This malware takes away all genuine advertisements from websites and keeps on showing its own collections. Luckily, this infection came to an end in the year 2008.
- DeskAd:
DeskAd is responsible for showing many deceptive advertisements and keeps on directing users to suspicious websites. This malware keeps on working unnoticed on the system, and with time, it may take control of the entire browser. Most of the cases related to DeskAd were reported when people downloaded some random attachments from emails.
