ZTE’s China-based subsidiary Nubia has unveiled its first smartphone with 5G connectivity during MWC Shanghai 2019 last week, but the company is already preparing for the next few months with the launch of yet another flagship.
In the late afternoon of Tuesday, the world witnessed the only total solar eclipse of 2019. Completely visible in regions of Chile and Argentina, Nubia took advantage of the moment to release photos captured with a smartphone not yet announced: the Nubia Z20.
The photographer in question was the user of Weibo known as @ Astroman201410. “More than 30 hours of travel, flying over 20,000 km across 12 time zones, I came to La Serena, Chile, only to witness the total solar eclipse,” writes the user on Weibo.
The general manager of Nubia shared the photos taken by the user, highlighting that this new Nubia Z20 will be “the main smartphone to photograph” thanks to its “king of level” of such excellence.
In the lower left corner of the photo we can read the watermark feature of Chinese smartphones: “captured on Nubia Z20” and “powered by Nubia” below, something like “manufactured/produced by Nubia” but without displaying sensor details, resolution or number of cameras.
Judging by the zoom, it is very likely that the manufacturer is adopting the same set of lenses we saw first in the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom when the device was still only a prototype: offering a standard main lens, an ultra-wide secondary and a third lens with 10x optical zoom. Maybe Nubia is more aware of a ToF 3D sensor, but that’s still speculation. More news should officially appear in the coming weeks, and leaks are highly anticipated, so stay tuned to igeekphone.
