Today, the Finnish company HMD Global launched a new low-cost smartphone Nokia 2.2 which becomes the cheapest phone in the company. The device received the support of AI technology, a dedicated button to call the voice assistant and a screen with a teardrop-shaped cutout. In addition, this is the first model of the 2nd series, included in the Android One program, which guarantees a stable system and security updates. Nokia 2.2 comes with an IPS panel measuring 5.7 inches with HD + resolution. This smartphone is also enhanced with water droplets that are home to the 5MP front camera. At the rear, the Nokia 2.2 has been equipped with a 13MP single camera with LED flash.
It is powered by the Helio A22 chipset from MediaTek, the HMD also buried 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB of internal storage. No need to worry, Nokia 2.2 has also equipped with a microSD slot to expand its storage capacity.
Although it comes as an entry-level smartphone, HMD also provides this smartphone with a special Google Assistant button that is placed on the left side of the device.
The absence of a fingerprint reader, users can only rely on the face unlock feature for their biometric security. Not to forget, this smartphone has also been equipped with a capacity of 3000mAh battery that can be recharged via micro USB.
In terms of software, Nokia 2.2 includes smartphones that are included in the Android One program. For now, the smartphone runs with pure Android Pie and is guaranteed to at least get software updates for three years, so it’s likely to get Android Q.
It will available in Black and Steel with a replaceable Xpress-on case, the Nokia 2.2 will go on sale from June 11, 2019. Its 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM model sold for €89 or around $100. While for the 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM version sells for €102 or around $115. HMD promises this smartphone will be sold in the global market, but sometime it will be announced.
