The company Xiaomi has announced an updated model of ultrabook Mi Notebook Air 12.5. The new 2019 is based on the 8th generation of Intel Core M3 or Intel Core i5 processors, it has 4GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal memory on a solid-state drive. In any configuration, the presence of a SIM card slot with 4G LTE support is implied.
The Mi Notebook Air (2019) features a 12.5-inch IPS LCD screen with full-HD resolution and 5.71 mm thin edges on the sides. The metallic body gives a different feel to the touch thanks to surface blasting, and there is no Xiaomi logo on the back in order to keep the design more minimalist. (You’ll find the “Mi” on the edge below the screen, though.) The laptop is 12.9 mm thick and weighs 1.07 kg.
The keyboard is backlit and full size, without “squeezing” the keys. We have here a USB-C port, a USB-A 3.0 port, an HDMI output, and a 3.5mm audio input. There are also two Harman speakers with DTS surround sound technology.
The battery is recharged via the USB-C port and has fast charging support, ranging from zero to 50% in 35 minutes. In terms of connectivity, we have Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual-band and Bluetooth 5.0. The notebook runs Windows 10 Home. Inside, we find Intel 8th generation processors. There are 3 models of Mi Notebook Air 12.5.
The basic version of the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 (2019) with Intel Core M3, 4GB of RAM and 128GB on an SSD-drive in China will be sold for $536, the version with 256GB – for $596. The top version with Intel Core i5, 4GB of RAM and 256GB on solid-state media will cost $640. Xiaomi began pre-ordering Mi Notebook Air 12.5 only in China; it will be delivered to customers on March 28. The laptop is available in gold and silver colors.
