Lately, you can see more and more smartphone with retractable front camera (pop-up camera). Especially in China, this concept seems to appeal. Rumor has it that the upcoming OnePlus 7 will be equipped with a pop-up front camera.
The advantage of this solution: Neither a “punch hole” (hole in the display) nor a Notch is required because the front camera can be mechanically extended out of the housing. With Xiaomi another (Chinese) manufacturer could plan a smartphone with a mechanically extendable front camera.

The first evidence was Nunn discovered by one of the authors at the XDA Developers. The device, codenamed “DaVinci,” is said to have a current high-end SoC in addition to the potential pop-up camera, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855.
Which Xiaomi flagship would be eligible for a pop-up camera? If the launch of the smartphone was imminent we could think of a Xiaomi Mi Note 4, or a POCOPHONE F2, while more dilated times leave the door open to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 hypothesis, which however would arrive in the second part of 2019.
All this is still based on pretty early speculation. There is really nothing definite or definite, as the XDA developer author writes in his tweet.
