The Chuwi returns to the fore with AeroBook , a new Ultrabook with Windows 10 which will enter mass production process by the end of the funding Indiegogo campaign (already far surpassed the target). The Chinese company is presenting a number of tests it has carried out on the Chuwi AeroBook to demonstrate its capabilities in processor power, 4K video playback and graphics performance in video games.
Chuwi AeroBook adopts a 13.3-inch screen in 16: 9 format and Full HD resolution. The side frame on the sides measures only 5mm with a screen-shell ratio of 80% to offer an immersion in excellent contents. The laptop is equipped with an Intel® Core ™ M processor clocked at 2.2GHz and 9th Gen HD Graphics at 850MHz. With ample storage space of 8GB + 128GB, performance is also surprising. From the CPU-Z test, we can see that CHUWI AeroBook is equipped with the M3-6Y30 processor specifically designed for the mobile market with balanced performance and adequate power consumption. It is dual-core four-threaded and uses 14nm processes, 4.5W TDP, 4M trilevel cache, and turbo boost up to 2.2GHz.
In the Geekbench test, CHUWI AeroBook achieves a single core score of 2528, a multi-core score of 4831 and a graphical score of 12957.
CINEBENCH R15 is a software to perform processor tests based on Cinem4D that tests the performance of CPU and graphics via rendering high-precision pictures and 3D graphics. The test gave these results, CHUWI AeroBook’s single-core score is 82cb, and its multi-core score is 200cb. The score is close to Core i5-3317U. The average number of frames in graphics testing is 26.40fps. To sum up, CHUWI AeroBook is more than enough to handle daily graphics rendering.
In terms of 4K video testing, CHUWI AeroBook has no jamming in the process of playing a three and a half-minutes 4K video, which shows the CPU’s excellent ability of video hard-decoding.
We have installed PhotoShop CC 2018 version on AeroBook to process some larger pictures. The whole process is quite smooth whether in importing PSD files or in outputting and saving JPG files. For example, it takes about five seconds for CHUWI AeroBook to import the following PSD file with hundreds of levels.
For game testing, we chose a popular game, HearthStone and set the resolution to 1080P and the picture quality to the highest level. AeroBook works basically well with the full frame effect and flows smoothly between image and effect.
In summary, CHUWI AeroBook performs very well in dealing with 4K video, daily games and quantified graphics processing. According to the latest news, CHUWI will add a new full-functional USB-C port on AeroBook, which will support PD fast charging, data transmission and video output to further enhance the cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.
Chuwi AeroBook is available in crowdfunding on Indiegogo, at a price of $399 for the 8/128 GB model. If you need more storage space, the device is also present in the 256GB and 1TB variants at $429 and $699 respectively.
