Today, the co-founder and president of Xiaomi Group China, Wang Chuan, made an announcement through Weibo, in which he affirms that the Mi 8 Pro, which was launched last year, will receive the new Game Turbo technology that is present in the company’s new flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9.
Xiaomi says that the Game Turbo technology drastically improves performance, as it dynamically adjusts the frequency of the CPU, depending on the rendering load of the game. With intelligent programming of the CPU frequency, the SoC operates at a lower frequency in a less loaded scenario, which reduces the power consumption of the system.
In the same post, the executive said that the introduction of this new feature will improve the performance of phone games. On the other hand, the Chinese company says that in the scenes with large representations, as in battles in the multiplayer team, more resources of the active system are invested. That’s when the mode acts to make everything flow better: it increases the frame rate of the image and reduces the frame drop.
As its name suggests, the Mi 8 Pro is a variant of the Mi 8 that comes with a fingerprint scanner on the screen. According to the company, its unlock speed is 29% higher and the success rate has improved by up to 8.8%, compared to other previous versions of the sensor.
The rest of the specifications of the phone are still the same as those of Mi 8. It has a Super AMOLED screen of 6.21 inches with a FullHD + resolution of 2248 x 1080 pixels and a notch. There is a Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Mi 8 Pro will be available for purchase in China from tomorrow 10:00 AM in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model through major online retailers for 2499 Yuan (about $373).
