The true hole-less Smartphone Meizu Zero has been officially launched on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo, now there are a YouTuber has received the Smartphone and released the Hands-On video that you can see below.
However, now the price has already disappeared, but journalists had time to make a screenshot. As said on the site, for the participants of the funding program, 100 smartphones are offered for a contribution of $1299. The set includes a wireless charge because the hole for the usual in the novelty is not. The devices promise to be sent in April. And for $2999 the user can get the only already available device Meizu Zero, by the way, it has already been bought.
At first glance, the device is just a smartphone with current features. The screen, for example, is a 5.99-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2540 × 1440 pixels, thin edges and a slight curvature on the sides.
Looking back, we come across a dual 12MP + 20MP camera, consisting of the Sony IMX 380 and IMX 350 AI sensors, respectively. It does not look like it, but there in the front, there is a camera for selfies with 20MP. But soon we realize that a lot of things here run out of the ordinary. To start with, the Meizu Zero has a built-in fingerprint reader (not surprising, but still an unusual feature) – the circle just below the dual rear camera is a ring-shaped LED flash.
Then comes the absence of USB port. To power the battery, whose capacity has not yet been revealed, the smartphone uses an 18W Super mCharge cordless charger. The Meizu Zero has a ceramic unibody structure, which should facilitate recharging.
On the sides, the buttons have been replaced by pressure sensors integrated into the edges of the screen that allow you to turn the unit on or off, as well as control the volume of the audio, a technology that Meizu calls mEngine 2.0.
At least the processor has not been replaced by any “mProcessor”: Meizu Zero has Snapdragon 845. However, other basic specifications, such as RAM and storage capacity, are still unknown. Date of launch and price are other details that Meizu owed. But probably the smartphone will have limited distribution: its availability should depend on partnerships with carriers that support eSIM.
