A few days ago, foreign media reported the news of Huawei Kirin 985 but did not give specific parameters. From the naming point of view, this should be a small upgrade version of the Kirin 980, the architectural changes should be small, but the performance should be stronger.
Combined with this clue, the foreign media intends to further explore the information of Kirin 985 but unexpectedly found the Kirin 990 in a Linked In the file of a Huawei engineer.
From the file point of view, the engineer is participating in the energy efficiency tuning work of the Kirin 990, while also developing a new smartphone based on the Kirin 990.
As for the specifications, there is no news yet. However, if there is no accident, Kirin 990 should use ARM’s next-generation Cortex and Mali public version architecture, and the manufacturing process should be TSMC’s 7nm EUV.
In addition, the engineer’s profile also appeared “Hi1620” chip, which is Huawei’s server product just announced last week, further increasing the reliability of the message.

I don’t know if the Kirin 990 will be the first SoC to integrate 5G baseband.
