Looking for a full-screen Android Smartphone? This is the Elephone PX and it is now available on Indiegogo for $249. Meanwhile, the official price is $499. The pop-up camera module was one of 2018’s most innovative alternatives to the smartphone notch. Elephone is developing a phone that elaborates on Vivo’s original concept somewhat by adding a dual camera to the mechanism. This device, the PX, is available on Indiegogo for about US$249 at present.

Vivo introduced the concept of moving the selfie camera into a module that is raised and lowered out of the body of a phone using a motor this year. The adaptation brought the screen-to-body ratio of the Vivo Nex S (or Ultimate) up to 86%. This proved a compelling alternative to the notch and made the Nex line one of the most interesting and unique of 2018. Vivo has dumped the technology for its Nex 2, but Elephone has picked up the concept for itself. This version has a dual camera, not a single one, in the front-facing mechanical module. And the makers today released a new batch of photos showing the new ELEPHONE PX in the full beauty, so check the pictures scattered around the article.
Elephone PX offers a 6.34-inch screen with minimal bezels thanks to its dual pop-up camera. It also has a dual rear camera, which is 16+2MP (to match the front-facing camera). However, its true-full-screen appearance is countered by compromises elsewhere in its specs. The PX’s display resolution is 720×1480 (for a 19:9 aspect ratio), and it has 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of internal storage, although it can be expanded with up to 400GB of microSD card support. Elephone also claims that the PX will come with a 3500mAh battery, USB type C and Android Pie (9.0) out of the box. On the other hand, it does not have a headphone jack.
The PX is to be powered by the MediaTek P22 processor, which has 4 Cortex-A53 (2.0GHz) and 4 more A53 cores at 1.5GHz. It is also portrayed as having a raised accent around the rear of the pop-up module, as well as a fetching aluminum strip along the bottom half of the rear panel. However, the rest of the body is specified as plastic.
Currently, there are still some early-bird rewards available for the phone, which puts its price (without shipping) at US$249. So far, it has raised over $40,000, or just over 400% of its original goal. Therefore, Elephone may realize its dream of putting a bezel-free phone at a reasonable price out soon enough. The special Super Early Bird promo price puts the Elephone PX at $249.99 and there are only a handful left, so if you would be interested in this phone you better hurry. More info about it in here.
