With the entire industry facing the supply shortage of Intel chipsets, it seems impossible for tablets/ laptops makers to depend on Intel to fulfill their product lineups in a short time, they choose to move to MediaTek for keeping a spot in the market. And for us end users, we are just happy to get our hands on the latest tech to keep up the workflow, and that means Intel and MediaTek are really no difference as long as they get the job done, right? We spot that ALLDOCUBE is introducing a new model named M8.
As the name suggests, it has a small 8-inch IPS Full HD tablet (1920 x 1200 pixels) with a thickness of 8.4 mm and weight of just 345 grams. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio X27 deca-core processor up to 2.6GHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and 5500mAh / 3.8V battery.
The integrated ARM Mali T880 MP4 GPU is clocked at up to 875 MHz and the overall performance has improved by 30%. Do not expect dizzying performance, but the platform will be able to offer the right compromise between speed and efficiency, even for a good duration of autonomy. And other models on the market have shown it.
The rest of the equipment includes the usual modules for wireless connectivity, such as WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and 4G-LTE (support for dual-SIM and band 20) to surf the Internet and make calls on the move, but also FM radio, GPS, microUSB port for charging and GPS. Unfortunately, there is no trace of a USB Type-C and/or HDMI port, very common in the latest generation of tablets. The operating system is Android 8.0 Oreo.
You can find more details about ALLDOCUBE M8 on the official website, but at the moment it is not clear when it will be launched on the market and especially at what price. We have some ideas though: ALLDOCUBE M8 could be released in the next days with a price that will not exceed $250.
