At the beginning of this month, a Nokia Smartphone model TA-1136 suddenly appeared on the Bluetooth Technology Alliance certification website, and now this phone has passed the US FCC certification and may be released soon.
Previous Bluetooth authentication information shows that this phone will support Bluetooth 5.0, and Nokia’s current product lineup, only Nokia X7 supports Bluetooth 5.0. Therefore, foreign media once thought that it is the global version of the Nokia X7.
But MySmartPrice found that the FCC certification file unveiled some unexpected information: The phone is equipped with 1GB of RAM with 16GB internal storage and it is produced in Argentina. Configurations such as “1GB + 16GB” are clearly more likely to appear on an entry-level phone.
In the report, foreign media cited the views of some smartphone enthusiasts, saying that FCC used Nokia 2.1 (TA-1084) as a reference device, and this information was inserted as a reference. The FCC file shows that the relevant tests are done in Bluetooth v3.0+ EDR, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, Bluetooth v4.1LE, Bluetooth v4.2LE environment, not Bluetooth 5.0, which is different from Bluetooth authentication information.
According to FCC data, this model TA-1136 phone is highly similar to the TA-1084 (Nokia 2.1) device. At least this suggests that HMD is likely to be preparing a mobile phone that is similar to Nokia 2.1 and may be named “Nokia 2.1 Plus.”
